Operations Manager in London - Luxury Fitness Club
£35-42k (experience dependent)
Our client is a premium fitness club in London, known for elite-grade equipment, award-winning facilities and some of London’s most respected strength and conditioning coaches. They’re looking for a hands-on Operations Manager to own the day-to-day running of the club, keeping it safe, spotless and working perfectly for a discerning membership.
This is a role for someone who loves the practical side of gym operations as much as leading a team. The club’s recovery and wellness spaces, including sauna, steam, cold plunge and infrared sauna, are a big part of what members value, so you’ll be the person who keeps them running reliably, rolls up your sleeves for minor repairs and follows faults through until they’re properly fixed. If you take pride in a club that simply works, every single day, this one will suit you.
On offer is a salary of up to £42k, a close-knit team working alongside elite coaches in one of London’s most premium fitness environments, and the chance to build your career within a respected multi-site fitness brand.
Working pattern: 40 hours per week over five days, Monday to Sunday on a rota, with a 30-minute paid break each day. This is a fully on-site role and flexibility is needed for early, late and weekend shifts.
Key responsibilities:
Club standards: Keep the club safe, fully functioning and well presented throughout opening hours.
Facility maintenance: Carry out practical minor repairs within your competence and lead preventative maintenance across saunas, steam rooms, cold plunges and other club facilities.
Contractor management: Coordinate specialist contractors and follow every outstanding fault through to resolution to minimise disruption to members.
Housekeeping: Deliver consistent cleaning, changing room, towel and laundry standards.
Team leadership: Line manage the Front of House and Cleaning teams, including supervisors, with reliable rotas, training and payroll records.
Cost control: Manage operational costs, stock and suppliers within agreed budgets and approval limits.
Member experience: Resolve member concerns promptly and work with the commercial, coaching and studio leads to support smooth delivery of club services.
About you:
Operational experience: A background in gym, leisure, spa or premium hospitality operations, ideally in a management or supervisory role.
Practical skills: Confident with hands-on maintenance and comfortable diagnosing and fixing minor faults yourself.
Leadership: A visible, supportive manager who sets high standards and brings a team with them.
Ownership: Someone who spots an issue, takes responsibility for it and sees it through to the end.
Commercial awareness: Comfortable managing budgets, stock and supplier relationships.
Service mindset: Calm, professional and genuinely invested in giving members a first-class experience.
What’s in it for you:
A salary of £35-42k depending on experience.
Complimentary gym membership at a premium London fitness club.
Discounts with local and partner businesses.
