Are you an experienced operations professional with a passion for sports and leisure services? A dynamic and growing leisure facility is seeking a dedicated Boathouse Operations Manager to take the lead in overseeing the day-to-day operations of a vibrant watersports and community hub.
About the Role:
As the Boathouse Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the site, ensuring high standards of safety, customer service, and facility management. You’ll be the first point of contact for all operational matters, leading a team of permanent and casual staff, and playing a key role in shaping the strategic growth of the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily site operations and ensure compliance with health, safety, and safeguarding standards.
- Deliver excellent customer service and handle all enquiries and bookings efficiently.
- Line manage a team, overseeing recruitment, appraisals, training, performance reviews, and payroll authorisations.
- Act as the Club Welfare Officer and manage safeguarding and DBS processes.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement commercial strategies aimed at increasing usage and revenue.
- Manage user agreements, facility hire, and explore new business opportunities.
- Oversee administrative duties, ensure accurate data collection, and manage financial procedures such as banking and reporting.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and maintenance across the site.
About You:
You’re an organised, proactive, and people-focused leader with a background in leisure, facilities, or operational management. You thrive in dynamic environments, have strong interpersonal skills, and bring a commercial mindset to community-focused services.
Essential Qualities:
- Proven experience in operations or facility management, preferably in a leisure or sports setting.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Knowledge of health & safety and safeguarding practices.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- A flexible, solutions-oriented approach with a keen eye for service improvement and revenue growth.
