Accounts Payable Assistant
Location: Hybrid – 2 days per week in Central London office
Salary: £30,000 per annum
We are looking for an organised and enthusiastic Accounts Payable Assistant to join a high-performing finance team at a growing, multi-brand business. This is a hybrid opportunity offering flexibility alongside a vibrant and collaborative working culture.
You’ll be working across multiple sites and systems, supporting accurate cost reporting and ensuring smooth, timely payments to our suppliers. The ideal candidate brings at least one year of experience in an AP role, a great personality, and a sharp eye for detail.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Managing the accounts inbox and handling supplier queries with professionalism and clarity
- Processing a high volume of invoices with speed and accuracy
- Monitoring invoice approvals via automated systems and ensuring timely authorisations
- Coding invoices correctly and maintaining clean financial records
- Preparing payment runs and completing supplier statement reconciliations
- Assisting with weekly and monthly bank reconciliations
- Supporting Management Accountants with month-end reporting tasks
- Verifying supplier details and following due process to prevent fraud
- Responding to audit requests and maintaining audit-ready documentation
What You’ll Need:
- A minimum of 1 year’s experience in an Accounts Payable or similar finance role
- Strong attention to detail and pride in getting things right the first time
- A confident, approachable personality and clear communication skills
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset and willingness to take ownership
- Confidence using Excel and accounting software
- Experience in hospitality, leisure, or a multi-site environment is a plus, but not essential
