About the Role
We are seeking a commercially driven and strategic Business Development Director to lead the vision, growth strategy, and international expansion of an internationally known music & fitness games brand.
This is a senior leadership role combining commercial strategy, partnership development, product innovation, and financial oversight. You will identify new growth opportunities, secure high-value partnerships, and develop scalable commercial models that drive sustainable global expansion.
Working closely with senior leadership, you will shape market entry strategies, build revenue frameworks, and ensure the long-term commercial success of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Growth & Revenue Strategy
Develop revenue models, business cases, and commercial frameworks to support international expansion.
Identify and launch new income streams including merchandising, digital products, and brand extensions.
Analyse market opportunities and deliver data-driven pricing, event, and commercial recommendations.
Lead commercial growth across partnerships, sponsorships, licensing, and live experiences.
Business Development & Partnerships
Source, secure, and manage high-value partnerships across fitness, wellness, entertainment, sports organisations, and consumer brands.
Develop and sell sponsorship packages for events and multi-market activations.
Establish relationships with host cities, venues, production partners, and commercial operators.
Represent the business at industry events, pitches, conferences, and partner meetings.
Market Expansion & International Growth
Conduct market and competitive analysis to identify priority territories.
Develop commercial models for new market entry, including partnerships, licensing, and franchising.
Collaborate with operations and marketing teams to ensure commercial feasibility.
Evaluate audience data, cost structures, and revenue potential to guide expansion decisions.
Product & Experience Leadership
Drive continuous product and experience improvement to maintain best-in-class participant standards.
Lead pricing, packaging, and format optimisation.
Shape event propositions that resonate with partners, sponsors, and global audiences.
Commercial Finance & P&L Management
Own key commercial financial metrics including revenue growth, margin performance, and forecasting.
Build and maintain financial models and dashboards to support strategic decisions.
Monitor financial performance across events, partnerships, and markets.
Evaluate partnership valuations, pricing strategies, and ROI using strong analytical capability.
Present clear, data-driven insights to senior leadership.
Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Lead and develop a growing commercial and partnerships team.
Set performance goals and build a high-performance, values-driven culture.
Manage external agencies and partners to ensure delivery excellence.
Identify hiring needs and recruit talent to support scaling.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience in business development, commercial leadership, or partnerships — ideally within fitness events, entertainment, or live events.
Exceptional negotiation and relationship-building skills.
Strong commercial modelling, forecasting, and analytical capability.
Experience building business cases and evaluating growth opportunities.
Confident communicator comfortable working with senior stakeholders and external partners.
